Product Summary

The 6190-20 utilizes dry (a.k.a. cold) cut technology which will cut on average three times faster than an abrasive machine and costs 1 1/2 times less to operate. The saw produces little to no sparks when cutting and leaves a virtually burr-free finish. Cuts angle, unistrut, steel studs, channel, conduit, tubing and pipe. The base is a heavy-duty cast aluminum reinforced with a 1/4in. steel plate. Tool-free 3/8in. vise and back fence. The horizontal D-handle provides optimum comfort whether the tool is on the ground or sitting on a bench.

  1. will this model 6190-20 cut stainless steel with the proper blade

    1. With the proper blade and allowing the saw to do the work yes you may be able to cut stainless.
      Stainless that is work hardened such as 301 series will hardened extremely fast if allowed to "rub" instead of "cut". Work hardened stainless steels will require heavy feed and may prematurely wear blade and machine out. There will be a fine line between cutting and rubbing any discoloration in the material and you will have work hardened it beyond carbide cutting strength, carbide can cut up to rockwell 63~64 once it goes beyond that abrasive sawing will need to be used.

    1. The Milwaukee Dry Cut Chop Saw is rated for mild steel. It is rated for rectangular stock 4 inches by 7 1/2 inches, O.D. pipe 5 3/8 inches, square tubing 5 inches by 5 inches. All 1/4 inch thickness.

    1. This chop saw has a footprint of 13 1/2 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches deep. The compressed height when the blade is set down is 18 inches.
