    1. Because this does operate on GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) frequencies, which require a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license, you must be licensed prior to operating on channels 1-7, 15-22 and repeater channels 15-22, which comprise the GMRS channels of the MXT115. A license can be obtained by contacting the FCC.

    1. This is a General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) radio that is a land-mobile FM UHF radio service designed for two-way communication service that uses channels around 462 MHz and 467 MHz.
      Citizens band radio is a system of short-distance radio communications between individuals typically on a selection of 40 channels within the 27 MHz. It would not communicate with a CB radio.
