  1. Can I put Ice Cubes in water fill opening to cool faster

    1. yes, freeze small water bottles. drop them in the side door. the frozen bottles will last longer than just ice cubes sitting in the water.

  2. Temp change for #250859

    If the outside temp is 90 degrees and the humidity is 80%, what would the temp be inside with the cooler on high?

    1. With the temperature being 90 degrees and the humidity at 80%, the approximate temperature that the cooler would provide is 83.7 degrees. The cooler is considered a spot cooler where they will cool off a person faster than the room.

    1. The cooler unit does not require distilled water. It will not improve the cooling properties. Distilled water is cleaner so it might help keep the unit cleaner depending on the source water in users area.

    Do all coolers of this model produce a "stink" as one reviewer says about the one he bought?

    And how is water supplied into the cooler's tank and how is it drained?

    Also, will evaporative cooler work inside a house (no sun) in a very humid climate like Houston, Texas?

    1. 1. The odor is coming from the pads that are in the unit. You can run a tank of water through it, and if there is still a odor, you can put a 1/2 tsp of downy or fabric softener with it.
      2. There is a fill door that you can put the water in with a pitcher. It will accept 5.3 gallons, and you can drain the tank manually.
      3. Place the intake fan in a doorway to another room, pulling the air from the other room through the cooler, that way the fan isn't pulling the same air through the unit.

    How much does the waterhose attachment cost? Does the waterhose have to be attached all time that the fan is operating?

    1. This cooler is not equipped with the water hose attachment option. To fill this unit there is a fill door to pour the water into. Also this cooler can also be used with the fan only option by simply turning the cooling pump off.

    1. It does work in high humidity but would not lower the temperature as much as it would in the lower humidity.

    I would like a cooler system in my outside kitchen and sitting area 25 feet x 16 feet which is covered and open on two sides.Also, I'm in Houston Texas,would this unit help???
