  1. Bend %

    Does this allow me to bend to any degree I wish, or do I have to go to a specific point?

    1. It's pretty flexible if you can do a little work with the dies to get the result you want. When you get towards the maximum thickness/width, you will find precision bending is trickier. Remember that the steel you are bending will probably not be lots larger/heavier than the steel the bender is made with.

    2. This unit features a bend radius from 0 to 200 degrees. You can bend to any degree within those parameters.

  2. Can this bend 1.5" Sch 10 304SS Pipe?

    1. This cannot bend 1.5" Sch 10 304 stainless steel pipe.

  4. Why can't this bender be used on conduit or exhaust pipe?

    1. Conduit and exhaust pipe is too thin. The pipe bender would cause it to collapse.

  5. Is size of the die radius or diameter of the die?

    There are several sizes referenced for the included dies but I can't tell if that is bending radius or diameter of the die. I am guessing it is diameter, so if you use a 3" die you are creating a 1.5" bending radius?

  6. Can you bend DOM tubing?

    Can this bend DOM tubing and what would be the maximum size for it if it does?

    1. This Klutch manual metal bender is designed for bending flat stock or solid round stock. It is not designed to bend DOM tubing.

    1. At this time Northern Tool would not carry a scroll attachment for this Klutch Metal Bender.

  8. Can this be used to bend hollow steel tube with a large radius bend for greenhouses?

    1. This metal bender cannot be used on hollow steel tube. Northern Tool does offer item #1455063, 426634, and 426638 for a tube and pipe bender setup that can be used with hollow steel tube. The dies are sold separately for item #426634.
