Is the 3" the max diameter or length of reach?
I am trying to remove a steering wheel and must use a 3 arm puller. Essentially I need to remove a tube 2 1/4" dia by 2 1/2" long from a splined shaft. The shaft is recessed 1/2" from the top of the tube. Which size do I need?

The measurement of 3" means that it can be used on a diameter column of less than 3". The length of reach the gear puller has would be 40 mm (1.57 inches).
