  1. do you have to bolt down

    1. Go by the installation instructions of your compressor's manufacturer. My 60 gallon compressor is required to be loosely bolted down to keep it from tipping or walking. I used a hollow punch and press to put holes in these and they are working great. You could just as easily drill holes in them.

    3. I did not bolt mine down and they have not even tried to move out from under the compressor feet.

    4. The need to bolt these pads (and the air compressor that rests on them) to the floor is determined by what the manufacturer of the compressor recommends. Some compressors will "travel" while running and some do not. We recommend contacting the manufacturer of your compressor if the compressor's owner's manual does not mention it.

  2. 80 gallon compressor?

    Will these pads work for a large heavy 80 gallon compressor?
    I'm pretty sure my new Ingersoll Rand weighs around 600 lbs.

    1. I have a 1952 Gulf Oil air compressor that is extremely heavy and the pads appear to be holding up the weight well. It took four of us to drag the compressor into its place in the shop...I would guess 800-900 lbs.

    3. These vibration pads have a capacity of 50 lbs. per square inch. It will be necessary for you to measure each foot or support of the compressor. For example, if each foot is 2" by 2" (which equals 4" square) and the compressor has 3 feet then these pads would work. An example equation is: 4 (square inch size of each foot) x 50 (weight capacity in lbs. per square inch) x 3 (number of compressor feet) = 600 lbs.

  3. Are they good for outside use and for how long before the cork breaks down or dries up?

    1. These pads can be used outdoors; however, it will significantly shorten their lifespan. Cork is a natural material derived from Cork trees, and it is sensitive to moisture. Over time, this will cause it to degrade and require more frequent replacements. There are too many variables to determine the exact length of time before they break down.

  4. I'm building a house and I'm told the air handler will have to go on a box they make to accommodate the return. Can I put these under both my air handler and the box as well as the compressor outside? I want it super quiet. I bought a 52 db air handler.

    1. These vibration pads are designed for use under air compressor feet, but can be used under other equipment to reduce noise and vibration as long as the equipment does not exceed the capacity of 50 lbs. per square inch.
