    5. This Kitchener Stainless steel sausage stuffer will come with three size tubes, they are 1/2",7/8" and 1". Additional tubes may be available through our parts department at 1-800-222-5381.

  2. Can this sausage stuffer be cleaned in a dishwasher?

    The owners manual only references cleaning it in soapy water, but does not explicitely say you can't put it in a dishwasher. Will running it in the dishwasher harm the product in any way? Thanks.

    1. Yes. Would place all plastic items on top rack. Be sure to remove & clean under the gasket on the piston. I hand wash mine, easy enough to clean in a sink for me. Not sure if the base will fit in a dishwasher - am referring to the the cylinder, piston & stuffer tubes.

    2. It is stainless steel and plastic -- you can run everything through the dishwasher, except the frame. The fram just won't fit. (This is an advantage of the 5# over 15# -- the bigger cylinder wouldn't fit.)

    3. The canister, tubes and piston should be fine in the dishwasher be sure and keep the plastic items on the top rack. Also be sure and remove the rubber O ring from the piston to clean behind it. I would not chance putting the frame/gear assembly in the dishwasher though.

    4. The Kitchener sausage stuffer can be cleaned in dishwasher. It should be dried immediately after washing and all non stainless steel parts should be wiped down with food grade spray or salad oil.

  4. How can I get replacement parts?

    The brass insert in the neoprene sprocket has stripped out.

    2. Call Northern Tool as I don't think you can find the parts online or in thier calalog, but they should to stock the parts. I bought extra gears from Northern when I bought the stuffer.

  5. can a person change out the plastic gears with metal gears.

    The biggger stuffer you sell has them and how much would it be for a set of metal gears . Thanks Craig

    1. There's no need for metal gears. The plastic ones are plenty strong, operate smoothly, and are easy to clean.

    2. We do not have any metal gears to fit this unit. The gears for the 15 pound unit would not be compatible.

  6. where do you purchase the casings

    1. Most meat markets carry a commercial brand of casings or some will sell you several feet of theirs. Google sausage casing or hog casing and take your pick of websites.

    What size is the threaded ( black) nut (3/4" or 1") at the bottom for the filler tubes are attached ?

    1. This Kitchener sausage stuffer does not come with a tube for pepperoni sticks and it is not designed for pepperoni sticks so a tube for that purpose is not available.

  9. Will the metal gears on the 15 pound stuffer fit the 5 pound stuffer?

    1. The metal gears in the 15 pound stuffer will not work with the metal gears in the 5 pound stuffer. To purchase the gears for either stuffer, may we suggest contacting our parts department at 800-222-5381.
