I go camping alot. I would love to plug in a coffee maker to make a 12 pot of coffee. will this be able to handle it?

No, many coffee pot makers pull a lot of amps to heat the water. Example 8 amp x 120v = 960 watts x 1.25 (account for converter loss) = 1200.
You would need a 1200w converter to be sure it worked correctly. You need to go by the watt or amp rating on the bottom of your coffee pot because it varies.
This inverter is good for something in the 120v 1.5 amp/200 watt range.

i don't think so, look on the tag on the coffee maker, how many watts does it use? if it uses more then 175 watts, then no , get a unit that will produce 110% of the watts of the coffee maker . if the coffee maker says 500 watts you will need a 600 watt unit.

Coffee maker draws way more than 200 Watts--it would burn out the inverter first time out...

This inverter provides a 200 watt (1.8 amps) max output. Coffee maker watt/amp requirements vary from one brand/type to the next. It's necessary to verify your coffee maker's wattage or amp draw to determine if this inverter supplies enough power to run it.

Need to hook up small battery charger to this
Can I hook this up to a 12 V portable battery pack and battery charger to charge my boat battery?
-
ChuckDave101· 9 years ago
Yep, I do it.
Regarding the efficiency loss one person mentioned, I suggest the following: Compare the heat coming off your radiator and engine to the heat coming off the transformer/battery charger -- then tell me which one is more efficient.Helpful?

As long as your charger won't pull more than 200 Watts, you'll be fine.

It is not ideal to plug a 12 volt battery charger into a 12 volt inverter. You lose efficiency twice - once when you convert the 12 volt power into 120 volt power for the charger, and once when you convert the 120 volt power back into 12 volt power to charge the battery.
Why not simply hook the battery directly into the 12 volt power and recharge it with the motor running? Much more efficient, and probably safer and faster if done correctly.
You can drain your car battery quickly and be unable to crank your motor if you try to do this (either way) by charging your battery with the motor off.

Yes. This will convert DC to AC power and allow up to 200 watts of current at 120 volts AC. Get the cord adapter if needed to clip onto a battery. Make sure your battery pack (?) has a 12v DC output first.

This inverter can be used with your battery pack and charger to charge your boat battery as long as your charger doesn't draw more than 200 watts.

is a modified sinewave inverter good for small tvs and laptops or is it better to get a pure sinewave inverter?
is a modified sinewave inverter good for small tvs and laptops or is it better to get a pure sinewave inverter?

sensitive electronics would do better if plugged in to a pure sine wave inverter. This is better suited for electric lights, small motors, etc.

It is not recommended to use laptops or TV's with a modified sine wave inverter. For sensitive electronic equipment such as those i would recommend a pure sine wave inverter item#42537. See below for product details.
