  1. Can this unit be used without the lub oil (e.g. leaving the lubricator "dry" when using the unit with sandblaster) Is it dual purpose in this regard?

    1. yes, I used it for a while with just the water separator. Also you can just not put oil in the oil side and the air would just go through the unit.

    2. With the Ingersoll Rand Combination Air System Accessories Regulator/Filter and Lubricator, you can run the lubricator dry while using the sandblaster. You will want to fully clean the reservoir to ensure all the lubricating oil is removed prior to attaching the sandblaster.

  2. What's the PSI rating?

    It looks like the 150 PSI rating is the maximum safe pressure, but what is the operational psi rating?
    The gauge in the picture tops out at 140 psi, so is it normally supposed to be operated at a lower pressure, e.g. 125 psi?

    1. Most regulators are rated to hold 200psi the gauge is for outlet pressure, so 200 in and from 0 to 140 out.

    2. The compressor's cut out level is 150 PSI but you would use the regulator to reduce the downstream air pressure to the desired level.

  3. Is there ever any need for a dryer on this unit. Do have Ingersoll Rand compressor, 60 gal. IR Ingersoll Rand (ARO)

    1. This is a combination regulator, filter and lubricator for your tools. You would not need to use an air dryer for this regulator. If you would need to use an air dryer on your air compressor would depend on the application and the tools you would be using, such as for automotive painting.

    1. It is recommended to install this after the tank to filter, regulate the air pressure and lubricate the air tools.

  5. How far away should the dryer be from the compressor ?

    To prevent water from moving thru the lines.

    What type of oil should be used in the lubricating bowl of this device? I purchased one several months ago and installed this past weekend. No instructions as to the type of oil.

    1. You would use a tool lube oil. This should be found anywhere locally that sells air compressors.

    1. This would not be the regulator you want to use with a paint spray gun. This has a lubricator in it. You will want one without the lubricator. Item #404798 would be a good one for paint.
