    4. Spring. There's ratcheting teeth at two positions per rotation of the reel - stop pulling when it hits those teeth and it'll stay put. Pull it past the teeth and it'll retract the hose.

  2. Would this hose real hold up on a service truck with out side elements

    1. I my opinion, No. Ive had mine in a garage for 12 months and it already has signs of corrosion. Outside in the elements I'd buy something more sealed/serviceable.

    2. I probably wouldn't do it. On one of the two I bought the hose popped after about three weeks. The unit itself is steel and even though it's coated/painted it doesn't look like it should be left out in the weather. It might be alright if you keep it covered.

  4. 1/4" hose fitting vs. 3/8" fitting

    Will the 1/4" fitting on this hose/reel restrict air flow and reduce efficiency over the 3/8" fittings found on other 3/8" hoses and reels?

    1. 3/8" hose standard fitting size is 1/4" npt. It flows plenty of air to power air tools, sanders and painting equipment. I've used it for my media blaster with no issues, it's the highest air consuming tool I have.

    2. The 1/4'' hose inlet fitting on this hose reel will not restrict air flow on the 3/8'' hose.
