Use the Genesis Power Tools Multipurpose Oscillating Tool as a detail sander, close-quarter saw, power scraper or grout removal tool. It is a versatile tool for home repair, remodeling and restoration. Features a 1.5 Amp motor that delivers 21,000 oscillations per minute. Has a sturdy die-cast aluminum gear housing. 4-pin flange holds accessories firmly in place. Great for trimming door jambs for flooring installation, removing old caulking, glue or paint, taking up vinyl flooring or carpeting, chiseling out door hinges or trimming cabinets for installation.

  1. which blade for fiberglass( model gmt15a)

    What would be the max thickness of fiberglass that the tool would be capable of cutting through. thanks jc

    1. With the available blades,probably no more than 1 3/4". Maybe slightly less.

    2. With the right blade I would think it could cut through at least an inch or more. When using it to trim door jambs for wood flooring I use wood/metal blades and it cuts through nails in the frame with no problems except a blade does not last as long as just wood, naturally.

    3. If you are using the long thin blade you could probably get around an inch in depth. Because of the oscillations going any deeper may burn the fiberglass before it gets all the way through.

    4. 2 of the blades that come with the Genesis Oscillating Tool will cut fiberglass. The wood and drywall saw blade(round) will cut approximately 1 inch thick, and the flush cut saw blade will be able to plunge cut through approximately 2 inches deep.

    1. Yes. But it is a well made tool that will probably last a while.

    Can you use universal blades and accessories or will it only work with Genesis blades, etc.?
