Safely back up selected lights, appliances and hardwired items using your portable generator during a power outage. Pre-wired for easy installation, this 30 Amp manual transfer switch includes 6 circuits and accepts interchangeable breakers to expand to 10 circuits (including Arc-Fault and GFCI). U.S.A.

  1. Is the Generac Transfer Switch - 30amp compatible with the LP3250 Propane powered generator?

    Can a Generac Pre-Wired 30amp / 7500 watt Transfer Switch for 6-10 circuits be used with a Generac Model LP3250 Propane Generator?

    1. This transfer switch could be used with this generator, but it only has a 20 amp L14-20R twist lock receptacle. You would need to be sure to use a 20 amp plug. It is also recommended to check with a local electrician to be sure this transfer switch would work with your home requirement.

    2. While an 30 amp manual transfer switch may be applicable for use in your existing configuration, we are unable to determine the exact switch that is required for your home’s installation. Also, please note that the LP3250 has a 20amp, L14-20R twist lock receptacle. We would recommend ensuring that you utilize a 20 amp plug to appropriately and safely connect the generator to your selected manual transfer switch or Power inlet box. To ensure that you are utilizing the appropriate manual transfer switch for your back-up power needs, and to ensure you meet all local and national codes, we would recommend working with a local certified electrician.

    1. This 30 amp manual transfer switch, will come with six circuits installed. It can be expanded to 10 circuits using standard interchangeable type circuit breakers. It will come with Instructions for installation, expanding, and reconfiguring the transfer switch.

    2. The 30 amp manual transfer switch, model 6294, will come with 6 circuits installed, with the option to expand up to 10 circuits using standard interchangeable type circuit breakers. The included circuits are two (2) 15A 120V breakers, two (2) 20A 120V breakers, and one (1) 20A 240V breaker. Instructions for installation, expanding, and reconfiguring the transfer switch will be included with the manual transfer switch upon purchase.

  3. Is it pre-wired?

    1. switch is pre-wired .. of course you need to connect it to the outside for the generator .. also might need to alter a breaker or two depending on what you plan on running .. example, if you hook up something like a hot water heater, will need a higher amp breaker

  4. Type of breakers

    In expanding to 10 circuits, additional breakers would be needed.

    What type of breakers? Square D, GE, Siemens, Eaton, etc.?

    1. In expanding the unit to 10 circuits either Square D or Siemens breakers are recommended. These breakers can be purchased from local hardware stores.

  5. 60 AMP BREAKER

    60 Amp 2 Pole Breaker not included. Do you have availablity to provide said item for purchase and ship with original purchase ?

    1. The 60 amp 2 pole breaker is not included, it is in your existing load center, which is required.
