  1. What keeps the battery up when you are out in the woods? not on a  power line or any other power???

    1. There is a battery charger within the control panel on this generator.

    2. The Guardian series automatic standby units are designed as a back-up to utility power only. Utilizing the unit in place of utility – prime power – will void the unit’s warranty. When properly installed at a location with utility service present and with a Generac automatic transfer switch, the battery will charge using the integrated battery charger within the control panel, fed by the T1 control wire coming from the transfer switch. The T1 control wire will be powered whether utility power or generator power is present. The battery charger does not feed directly off of the alternator while the generator is running, and the battery charging system does not depend on the generator’s running to operate.
