  1. How wide does the clamp open up to?

    For example, will it clamp and hold on a carport support post?

    4. The clamp will work with any 2x piece of lumber. If the mounting area is larger you will need to use the supplied screws for mounting.

  2. Can this be mounted to a flat wall surface?

    The picture shows it mounted to what appears to be a wall stud- is that what its intended use is?

    or is it capable of being surface mounted to a wall?

    I guess I am also wondering what the yellow and black lever/handle is for.

    1. It's a spring grip to use around a 2" x 4"

    2. This storage kit primarily is designed to be mounted to a wall stud with the supplied yellow and black clip handles. When the handles are pressed down, they insert into the stud. It also can be mounted to a stud backed flat wall surface with the included screws.

    3. Yes, this is intended to be mounted to a wall stud by using the supplied yellow/black clip handle. This handle clamps two metal straps to each side of the stud and when the handle is pressed down they squeeze onto the stud.
      I have a couple of these and this allows them to be mounted and moved easily if needed. They also come with screws to be more permanently mounted to a wall surface or stud if desired.

    Storage kit for what? How about an example of how this is used.

    1. this is a nice set up for mounting all kinds of hardware in sheds or garages and or closets

    3. This storage kit does not have a specific purpose except help to organize an unfinished garage. The hangers can hold anything up to 75lbs that can be hung up. Some examples would be a bike, or garden tools.
