    2. The unit does stay cool to the touch except where the heat exits the unit out of the front top.

    3. The surface of the unit even the top is cool to the touch so I don't have to worry about my dog getting burned.

    4. I tested ours right away, it is comfortable to the touch, it does not burn. Our toddler immediately investigated ours after running through the night, she could feel the warm air but did not get hurt by placing her hands on the grate.

    5. Every part of the quartz heater except the vent where the heat comes out will be cool to the touch. The manufacture states the heat vent will be warm to the touch but not hot enough to cause burns.

    4. Yes there is a built in Blower and when you turn it off the blower will stay on to cool the unit down. The filter can be clean which is located in the back of the unit and easy to excess but the unit must be off when doing so.

  4. Power Outage, will this unit restart on its own immediately after a power outage?

    this issue is extremely important, if the unit does not automatically restart after power outage then it will not meets my heating needs, if this unit fails in restart after power outage then do you have another similar unit available that will not fail in starting independantly after power outage?

    4. The Twin-Star International PowerHeat Infrared Quartz Heater will not turn back on automatically after a power outage. This, along with all other heaters of the same type we sell, have a safety feature built into the unit, that will require it be manually turned on after a power outage.

    4. The PowerHeat Infrared Quartz Heater does have a fan that moves air at 2 meters per second. The lifetime high efficiency filter inside of the unit never needs to be replaced, and can be cleaned by vacuum or with warm water.

  7. Is this heater quiet or noisy and does the fan run a lot?

    1. This heater does not hinder hearing the TV or carrying on conversations. The fan runs when the heater is heating but not when the temp reaches the set-point. The fan runs for a very short time after the unit is turned off.

    2. I consider this quiet. You notice when the fan is running if you are paying attention. The fan runs once the elements heat up and then for a time after to push all the heat out of the heater, then the fan turns off until the thermastat kicks the heater back on.

    3. Fan does make abit of a humm/buzz however do not believe any would not. Not overly loud fan is a quite one, runs only when unit comes on, depends on tempatures as to how long. often on for minute after eliment shuts down

  8. Can this unit be programmed to turn on at specified times?

    I'm looking for a electric space heater than can be programmed to turn on and off at different times throughout the week. Safety is a MUST.

    1. It can be programed to turn off but not on. The thermostat will control the heater to come on & off as needed

    3. For safety reasons, the Twin-Star International PowerHeat Infrared Quartz Heater cannot be programmed to turn on at specific times. The timer on the unit can only be set to turn the unit off automatically.
