  1. What is the water capacity  How cold before it freezes

    1. The water capacity is 20 gallons. The water has been tested to withstand temperatures up to -20 degrees Fahrenheit for up to 48 hours. To ensure proper operation in cold weather, it is recommended that each unit be installed with the poly earth tube. When not in use it is recommended to purchase the shut off valve kit (model 54130168). This is a hydrant style drain back feature that protects the waterer from freezing. The parts can be purchased through the manufacturer directly.
