  1. The bench doesn't look very deep; how deep is it, and is this enough to sit comfortably?

    1. I used two 2x6's for the seat with a little gap it is 12 inches deep.

    3. The angled back makes it pretty comfortable. If you are not excessively large, I don't have any problems sitting on it fine.

    5. If you build the bench according to the included instructions the width of the seat would be 13". That would be a pretty comfortable seat width.

  2. How many will I need?

    I have a 16ft section on my dock that I want to build a bench for. How many brackets will I need?

    1. I would use 10. The spec says no greater than 2' spacing. If you divide these up equally it will be less than 2' and gives plenty of support. I used 10 on my 16' deck and it came out great

    1. I would not go more then 2 for 4 feet

    2. I used 2 bench brackets for my benches that are 5 feet 6 inches long. Two brackets are strong and sturdy enough for this length and probably fine up to 6 feet.

    1. not sure but normal back rest, guessing 20 degrees or so, comfortable but you are sitting up normal

    I'd like to install as rail benches on my concrete front porch. Any idea how well this could work?

    2. The Deck Bench Brackets can be attached to a concrete base. Different hardware than what is included would be needed for this type of installation. This could be purchased locally at a hardware store.

  8. Do you assemble with lag screws or bolts?

    Do you need stainless steel?

    1. All the wood screws needed for the assembly are included in packets inside the cardboard carton. If during shipment your box arrives torn open check you have packages of screws inside.

    2. It just uses standard screws and all the hardware is included in the kit. You only need to supply the boards.

      You would not need stainless steel.
