  1. What type of head is on the screws and do you need a Phillips or slotted screw driver or can they be ratched?

    1. The kit comes with philiip head screws. I've built 4 kits and each has been a screw or two short so you'll have to hit the hardware store to complete the project.

  2. how many brackets are in the package?

    Will I be able to build two seats and a table as shown?
    One reviewer said they had to buy two sets for one table and chair setup?

    1. I've purchased 4 kits. Each kit includes 2 table legs and 4 bench legs.

  3. Are the benches top-heavy

    I'm interested in this kit, however the benches look as if they would be top-heavy, and easily tip over. Would like to hear from someone who has put it together, whether they think the benches are top-heavy or not.

    1. I have assembled 4 of these kits, they are not top heavy. These are my first picnic tables with detached benches. I like them very much. I've posted pictures of two of my tables sets. One green and one brown.

  4. Can you use 2x6's and 2x8's instead of 2x4's?

    2x6's or 2x8's would be easier to use and you would have a bigger flatter surface to sit your plate? 2x4's are never the same thickness so you have high and low spots making the plates rock back and forth.

    1. The picnic table and benches are designed to use 2x4's for best results. The preset screw locations are set for 2x4's. Larger sixes could be used but many of the pre-set screw locations will not align with larger boards.

    2. It may be possible to use larger dimension lumber, however the spacing and length of the surfaces are designed fit best using 2x4s.

  5. Does this come with the 2x6 and 2x4 s ?

    1. The picnic table set would not include the 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 boards.

  6. Can you purchase a single table support (in addition to the ones already supplied) to add stability to the center of the table? If so, how much?
