Panel Carts

Panel carts are specialized equipment designed to transport and handle various types of panels, sheets, and large flat objects. These carts have sturdy frames and multiple casters, allowing easy maneuverability through tight spaces. Typically used in industries such as construction, woodworking, or manufacturing, panel carts come in various sizes and weight capacities to accommodate different materials. They often feature adjustable handles and ergonomic designs to facilitate easy pushing or pulling, reducing the physical strain on workers.

Panel Cart Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the differences between panel carts and drywall carts?

Panel carts and drywall carts are essentially the same thing, a wheeled cart that is designed primarily for moving or transporting long, bulky items like wood, paneling, drywall and other construction-related materials. Although there are many different cart styles, nearly all the carts have a flush, flat bottom that makes it easy to slide items on and off the cart, plus extended vertical supports or a frame that holds the items upright or at an angle and keeps items in place during transport.

What is the load capacity of a typical panel cart?

Northern Tool + Equipment has a wide selection of panel carts available with load capacities ranging from 500 lbs. to 5,000 lbs. The capacity is dependent on the design and construction material of the cart. Check the rating of each individual cart before purchasing to ensure it can handle the load weight you are expecting to subject the cart to.

Can I purchase replacement parts for my panel cart?

Northern Tool + Equipment does sell a wide selection of wheels and casters that could likely be used as replacements for many existing panel carts. We recommend checking with manufacturer specifications and parts lists to ensure a proper fit for other replacement parts that may be needed.

Can panel carts be used for outdoor applications?

Yes, most panel carts can be used outdoors and can be especially helpful on jobsites in some applications. Larger wheel/caster size is recommended for outdoor use, as a bigger wheel size will usually provide smoother rolling and easier operation on rough terrain.

Is there a difference between sheet carts and platform carts?

Platform carts feature large, open platforms with wheels or casters that allow an individual to push or pull equipment, materials or accessories from point to point. The typical platform cart has a handle on one or both ends and swiveling wheels for easier steering. Sheet carts are similar to a platform cart, with swiveling wheels/casters and handles for easy pushing/steering, but they also include supports (usually vertical) to hold large sheets of sheetrock, paneling, plywood, doors, windows, etc., in an organized, on-end or on-side position that secures the cargo during transport.
