Diamond Cores

Power through the toughest of materials with the use of a quality diamond core. Northern Tool + Equipment carries Milwaukee and Husqvarna brand diamond core drill bits ranging in diameter from 7/8 inch up to 8 inches. Our selection also offers 3-bit sets which provide more versatility to the user. Diamond core drill bits, sometimes called “bells,” offer higher quality and precision of work when boring holes in concrete, blocks, or stone. This has made them more popular than non-diamond cores. However, this is not the only advantage to the diamond core drilling process.

Reduced vibration is another benefit, especially for those using the tool frequently as it decreases the risk of injury. Core drilling also produces less dust than other methods as it removes a solid piece of material rather than fragmentizing it. In addition, diamond core drilling produces less noise than other hole-boring equipment which, like vibration reduction, enhances user safety. Wherever possible, we recommend utilizing a diamond core wet bit as wet core drilling further reduces dust, vibration, noise, and heat. As with any project that requires drilling, be sure to suit up with proper personal protective equipment before operating a diamond core drilling rig.
