Air Needle Scalers

Air Needle Scalers

An air needle scaler is a powerful tool that is commonly used for cleaning and surface preparation tasks, such as removing:

  • Rust, paint, and other types of coatings from metal surfaces
  • Scale and other hard deposits from concrete and other surfaces
  • Weld slag and other debris from metal surfaces
  • Carbon buildup from engine parts

Air Needle Scalers are commonly used in industrial and construction settings, such as shipyards, steel mills, and manufacturing plants, but it can also be used for DIY projects such as restoring cars, boats and other metal surfaces.

Connect the air hose to the scaler and ensure that it is securely fastened. Adjust the air pressure to the appropriate level, which will vary depending on the surface you are working on and the level of cleaning needed. Hold the scaler with both hands, with your dominant hand on the handle and your other hand on the back of the tool for added stability. Begin working on the surface, moving the scaler in a back-and-forth motion to remove rust, paint, and other debris. Use different sized needles to reach tight spaces and crevices. Use the safety guard to cover the needles when not in use. When you are finished, turn off the air supply and disconnect the hose from the scaler. It's important to wear protective gear, such as goggles and a dust mask, when using an air needle scaler. And be careful not to damage the surface underneath.
