"Can't use the bumper or hitch to tow. Can't use the spare tire winch that goes thru the bumper any more. Can't load a riding lawn mower with ramps over the tailgate without the bed tipping up and throwing me off. No grease fittings for maintenance. No OSHA body safety prop option or advisory. Poor instruction manual. Hydraulic cylinder leaks after warranty expires. No fuse holder included for powering pump solinoid. Scissor hoist ships without a protective cardboard box.

Lower scissor mount bolted to factory frame sheet metal crossmember can bend it down when overloaded, causing the driveshaft to be cut or bent.

Instructions include welding on the bumper which can damage engine computer, stereo systems, and instrument panels. All OEM pick-up truck service advisories warn against arc welding on vehicles.

Advertised 45 degree dump angle specification is false for all models."

"This unit took two people an afternoon to install on a 98 gmc 3500. It was invisible when mounted. It dumped a full truckload of grass every day for 5 years. It picked up well over what the truck could hold legally in weight. I wouldn't have given it up for the world. The factory wheelwells held in a little debris but, nothing a shove with a rake couldn't take care of. Only 2 yards of crushed stone would bog it down. It was really fast going up and down. The only downfalls of this unit is that the standard 10$ ford solinoid was mounted outside and open to the weather. It rotted out around once a year but was a 20 minute fix. Living in Mass., we have pretty tough winters. The BIGGEST downfall which was definately an issue with me was that you cannot mount the factory bumper along with a trailer hitch along with the dump because they would hit each other. I ended up making a custom bumper to keep within the law. Other than that, this unit saved me 15 minutes a day of pitchforking.
Only wish they made it for the 2005. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
