Perfect for oil pipe,

"I needed the large diameter to drive the recycled oil field pipe (3" diameter) I used for fence posts (holding up deer and rabbit fencing). Some of the posts were 12 feet long, so I was up on a stepladder slamming the posts in. The driver was well balanced so I could manage it with one hand while climbing up and down the ladder and plenty sturdy for the job.

Nice product, and it seemed hard to find from other suppliers - I was happy when I found it at Northern Tool."

"Not much to say, drove in the posts just fine. I had my doubts that it would be sturdy enough. Could have been a bit heavier on the weight, found myself pulling down to get some of the force I needed, otherwise it would've gotten 5 stars.
Did the job without falling apart and decently constructed."

"Owned this tool for 2 years now and used it a lot.

Pros: Very durable, good handles.

Cons: I guess its a con but its completely necessary for it to work, It is very heavy. Anyone notice the size of the guy in the catalog photo? After 4-5 hours and 25-35 fence posts, my arms have had it. I agree with the other reviewer, a bright color would be helpfull."

"Works great, easy to carry, handles are good size. Mine came painted black, but I'd request it in red like in the photo, or just paint it a bright color so if you lay it down in tall grass or brush it's easier to see so you don't leave it in the field."
