Rotary Hand Pump
This pump is very useful and does exactly what I bought it for. It is easy to change suction pipe from 55 gallon drum to smaller container sizes and pumps at a good rate per minute for fast filling into other containers/tanks.
The bung hole adapter is a little light but is sufficient.
Will be buying another one to use on multiple units.

Rotary hand pump
It seems to work fine for MEK paint thinner. Holds up, better than some plastic pumps rated for the same.

Rotary Hand Pump
Just what I was looking for in a manual hand pump. Needed something easy to use and not too heavy, this just fit the bill. The price was very good and I did shop around first.

Great pump for the money
While I haven't used this for more then a few months, it has worked flawlessly pumping 5w30 motor oil from a 55 gallon drum. It fills a five quart jug with just a few turns. Much quicker then lever type pumps and even quicker then the air powered dispensers I've had in shops before.

WMO pump
I use this pump to power a filter system that I made for cleaning WMO for my deuce and a half to run on. By hand it pumps pretty slow so expect to wait of you are doing 40 or so gallons.
I drilled out and tapped the handle shaft and installed a stud that I can attach a large corded half inch chuck Milwaukee drill to. It will make you have fore arms of steel but it will empty a 55 gallon drum in minutes at about 300 rpm.
It is a pain to prime off of the drill but it works fine for a really cheap hand pump. Charges in about a second off of the drill.

hand operated barrel pump
I purchased this pump for the sole purpose of emptying a barrel of oil into smaller containers that I could handle easier.. the pump was very easy to assemble and required no special tools.. within minutes of opening the box I was ready to get started.. the feed tube reached the bottom of the 55 gal. drum and the pump was held stable by the bung plug surrounding the riser. The pump handle was very easy to turn and the volume of oil would fill a five gallon bucket in just a minute of two.. had no problems and would recommend it to anyone ...

another great buy from northern tool!
as expected this pump performed as well as it was described.
i puchased this to tranfer coolant from a fifty five gallon drum it has worked as well as any manual pump i have ever used.
everyone in the shop agrees it is a very good pump.

Barrel Pump
Like these pumps, when you start to overflow. Just reverse the direction and suck back in the item.

Will not self-prime if drum is less than 1/3rd cap
I purchased this to transfer off-highway diesel fuel from a drum. As the fuel level within the drum drops the pump becomes more difficult to self-prime. When the fuel in the drum drops to about half capacity then the priming effort of this pump takes on a cartoonish comical effort! When the fuel level drops to 1/3rd - 1/4er then no amount of human effort will get this pump to self prime. However, if the pump is in operation it will nearly drain a drum of diesel fuel down to maybe the last five - 10 gallons.
I gave up and upgraded to a 12 volt electric transfer pump which is what I should have done the first time.
