You get what you pay for!
Used it 1 season, and threw it away. Total junk. I now have a Stryker Stainless one that does a fantastic job.

It Beats a Push Spreader - But Not by Much!
I've used this for the last 4 years, kept it clean and lubed and yet always came away cursing the metering mechanism. The unit itself is pretty sturdy and well made but the metering mechanism and flow distributer hatch is very cheap. The hopper also has no agitator to prevent the fertilizer from packing around the drop hole, requiring you to constantly stop and break up the material to get it flowing again. I had to rig one up myself to get over that. And even when it does allow the material to drop onto the spreader wheel, the distribution is uneven. There's always more being thrown on one side than the other. Finally, it was when the metering lever broke off in my hand that I went out and spent over twice as much for a bigger Brinley. The other problem is that it doesn't come with a handy conversion chart for common fertilizer brands.

Cheaply made, bad directions
I got this item at a discount because the box looked like it had been abused. As I began to assemble it I found the directions to be pretty useless no words or explanations just poor picture. Found the construction to be very cheap, during assembly parts would flop around and was difficult to keep straight if you could get them straight at all. The lock nuts were a very nice touch but more washers should have been included. The controller for the material flow is very cheap plastic and isn't even one piece so as you putting it on the handle it is falling apart. I expected more for my money but I guess I have high expectation.

Pull behind spreader
Product works very well does not clog up like others i have used.the size of hopper is a little small but works well enough.

Agri-Fab Tow-Behind Broadcast Spreader
This is a nice little spreader for the price. I would suggest that almost everyone should buy the next larger size. This is OK if a slow speed is used and a walk behind is probably better.

Too much rusting
The plastic differential doesn't last more than one use. The steel cable that controls the flow of material is plain steel and rusts solid after a couple of uses, so it all becomes pretty useless in very short order. If you have one DON'T run fertilizer through it. I'm a mechanical engineer and can't believe the poor planning.

large fertilizer (granular type) would not flow.
the broadcast spreader, works great for seed, only, but not for the new type of seed (all-in-one type) this type of new "seed" will not flow through the opening at the bottom.

Agri-Fab Tow-Behind Broadcast Spreader - 85-Lb. Ca
Very east to assemble. Attached it to my riding mower and it works great. Easy to adjust flow, turn on and shut off. Certainly beats pushing a traditional spreader.

Excessive Caking Causes Blockage
Most of the fertilizer you buy today is so moist that by the time you load the hopper with two bags of fertilizer, it compacts. All that is used to break this up is a cotter pin.
Agrifab was nice to send two pairs of gloves as gifts. I wish they would instead devote that money to a better system to break up the fertilizer. This only works good with dryer materials, like insecticide.

You Get What You Pay For
For the price it's not bad. But when I filled the hopper with 80 lbs/.of fertilizer, it didn't take long for it to compact and stop flowing through the hopper. Thinking about rigging up an agitator on it to help keep the fertilizer from clumping up. Other than that it's ok. no stripped gears yet!
