Garden hose quick coupler,

"Like the previous opinion, I have purchased other brass quick couplers, and they may look alike, but are not interchangable with these. It cost a bit more, but I bought enough to replace all the others around the house and have all my garden hose and accessories use the same coupler. This product works great and does not leak. Changing garden hose attachments is literally a snap. I would recommend this product to others."

The part ordered was not the part delivered!,

"I stopped off at a local Northern Tool store to purchase some quick-connects for my garden hose and attachments. The ones available were only sold as pairs (male/female). As I have many attachments, and only two hoses, I wanted several more male pieces. They were not available in store.
So, I figured I’d order online. The item shown, #30623 - NorthStar Garden Hose Quick Coupler — 100 PSI, 3/4in. Thread, Male, obviously has a knurled end piece just as the sets I bought in store.
Convinced these were what I needed I purchased 4 more.
The pairs I purchased in store fit very nicely. The ends connect firmly and tightly.
When the pieces I ordered online arrived I was very disappointed. The male end pieces were visibly different – the ends were completely smooth. Not to be swayed by cosmetics I tried a fit. At first connection I was very worried. The ordered male ends DID NOT fit completely into the store bought female connectors! They DID NOT lock into place when fully inserted as the pair did.
After playing around with the fitting I quickly learned that the male piece did lock, just not when fully inserted. You had to pull back on the male piece about 1/8th of an inch! This takes some time getting used to when the others pieces fit completely in and lock automatically.
At least they don’t leak! And it is not worth the time and effort to return. However, when asked for my opinion this is what you get."
