"I put this hose kit on a MTD/Yard Machines chipper/shredder. By using the MTD spacer ring on the shredder side to locate and drill holes at about 8 and 4 o'clock in the hose flange it bolts right on, re-using the spacer ring. The 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock holes are already there but may have to be elongated a little.

I didn't use the factory wire rope, but made a long steel handle for the MTD chipper, and hang the vac hose from the handle with an old trimmer strap. I also moved the axle farther toward the shredder side, and it is better balanced and much easier to pull around by hand. I'm an experienced fabricator.

I shoved the steel nozzle as deep as possible into the hose, punched holes thru the hose for the handle bolts and also used two hose clamps. It was not very secure othewise.

I removed the MTD chipper chute on the other side, and made a plug plate to close the hole off by bolting the plate on with the three existing studs.

It is pretty fast on a pile of leaves, not lightning fast, but the output of finely hammered and cut leaves will make any composter/gardener pretty happy. I think that it is much easier vacuuuming than raking the leaves into the plastic drop chute, which I threw away.
