NICE
Bought this one as an upgrade from the 1 ton block. Bigger and better. I have no fear with this one. Easy cable install and removal. Works great and doesn't bind. I thought it wold be cheap but its not. Well built and ready to work!

Great Value and performance
I purchased this item for tree removal and it worked excellent. This product is very well designed and simple to use. I may purchase a second unit for
hard to harvest trees.

Great snatch block
I bought two of these snatch blocks to be used with polyrope to help ensure the fall direction of some trees I cut down near my house. I hung each block in a nearby tree using a short logging chain. The location of the trees with blocks allowed me to redirect the path of the rope so I can pull with the truck in one direction and pull the tree in another direction. The pulley rolls smoothly with minimal friction. The frame is more robust than what I expected. While not shown in the picture, the side opening with latch is especially helpful because I used a 200-ft long rope that I want to keep on its spool, so it was easy to insert the rope into the snatch block even after I'd tied into the tree. The only thing that is not excellent is that the side latch isn't as precision and smooth as the rest of the pulley, but the side latch mechanism is made robust to carry the load. The usefulness of the side latch far outweighs its lack of refinement. The side latch is really not a problem, it's just not as refined as the rest of the block components.

Better then expected
You know ---- you often becomned jaded expecting lesser quality then you could hope for. However this snatch block really had great workmanship. It was put together well and the material was substantial. It exceeded my expectaions.

Great for the $$$
We have have 3 of these and they get used/abused regularly gathering firewood make sure you take it apart at least once a year and clean and re-grease the bushing area well also the cotter pin holding the pully shaft in is soft and can fail we replace it with a harder steel pin or you risk the entire block bursting apart at the wrong time!!

Nice pully
The rolling action has minimal resistance, and the item itself is heavy duty. The side opening helps when a lot of line would otherwise have to be threaded though. The safety clip on the hook is better than I expected it to be. A decent product for the price.
