"having a spare set or two of replacement blades should be a requirement when buying an auger--accidentally hitting objects that will dull an auger is common when working around backfilled foundations or in lots of tract homes--having a spare lets you keep working without having to stop to resharpen---really important when you have help waiting to help you and you have to stop to do repairs ---easy item to carry with you when you are away from home---easy to resharpen in your spare time ---these blades hold a good edge but it is possible to dull them if you don't watch what you are doing---good sharp blades make the augers work easier and make them safer and less difficult to use----an item that makes your auger a more complete and reliable system---a must have RECCOMENDED item----cheap insurance for your expensive system-----when you buy an auger,bit,and extensions, it is foolish to not buy a set or two of blades"
