Answers

This Vogelzang coal stove uses chestnut, egg, stove, or nut-size coal for residential
furnaces, or any of the specialty packaged
fireplace coals (not wax-type coal “bricks”). Low ash content (2% to 6%) coal is
recommended.

For best results use solid, bituminous coal. Never use manufactured coal "bricks" made of coal dust with wax-type binder. Do not burn garbage or flammable fluids. Store coal in a dry and well ventilated area.

Vogelzang Sentry Coal Stove 3 5 2 2

Exccelent Coal Stove I had purchased this coal stove and hooked it up and I currently heat a few rooms of my home with it. I is a very great investment. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to save money on next years heating bill. I equipped my stove with a Hardy oudoor boiler blower to get the stove upto temp, then Ihave a blower to distribute the heat, so when the room calls for heat, both the blower on the fire kicks on, and the distribution blower until the room is at the correct temperature. The whole system is thermostatically automatically controlled. All I do is sit back and put coal in when it needs it. By having the Hardy Ouutdoor Furnace blower, it only lets air in when it needs it, and when its on its off cycle it just leaves enough air to keep a fire, in turn saving coal. May 12, 2008

I wouldn't give this to my worst enemy This product is a typical very low quality example of poor manufacturing. The air control knobs had over a 1/4 inch gap so controlling the burn was impossible. I thought that perhaps I had received a faulty unit so I complained to the people who market this product, and they sent me a replacement feed door. The replacement had an even larger gap than the original. I thought I had seen the bottom of the barrel until I saw this piece of junk. Do not buy this unit. January 21, 2008
