"NorthStar High-Pressure ATV Tree Sprayer - 16 Gallon, 2 GPM, 12 Volt"
Sprayer is just what I need
I am a newbie to apple trees, but we have had winter moths. We had a company spray last year, and this year I will spray myself. So far the sprayer is perfect for the job as it is just big and powerful enough without over-doing it.

NorthStar High-Pressure ATV Tree Sprayer
Had some trees tht were infested with bag worms tree's were 30 ft tall. This worked just great. Reached the top of the tree's with no problem. Lost a little pressure at the beginning.

Got the sprayer today and put straight water in it to test it out. After tightening up the clamps to seal off leaks, it powered the nozzle up quickly. Do I wish it had more vertical reach? YES! Only got about 20 feet high; maybe not that. I need about 30-40 feet--beyond the reach of this unit. However, 25-30' may do....if I can get it to do that consistently. It seems to want to do more than 20', but only when I first turn on the nozzle, and when the unit is at 200 psi. Jury is still out on that. Do I wish it cost less? YES! But...I also know that units that reach to 40' or more are into the thousand of dollars. Unit is easy to assemble and set up. And to remove from the ATV as well. Quiet operation. I think I may put the unit on an ATV trailer, and use a marine battery that I have to power it. Would be easier to get on and off the ATV. Sprayer was shipped quickly, and all fittings/components were there.
Like I said, jury is still out. By the way, I am spraying for mountain pine beetle control.

The manual shows mounting the supplied clamps to hold the sprayer nozzle. The nozzle will not work with these clamps, as confirmed by Northstar.
The switch has about 8 feet of wire to the motor. Cannot imagine who needs this length on an ATV. This unit is also sold for mounting on a trailer or possibly an UTV where the added wire may be useful.
More plugs and an extension with plugs would be more practical.
Would recommend it to a friend only because there seems to be no competition. Replacement 200 PSI pumps are hard to find.

operates as stated - was shipped w/ broken piece
operates as stated - was shipped w/ broken piece....would rather have the larger tank but it was not available with the larger pump.... which did not make sense to me

Better than expected....
The product was easy to put together with good directions. Pump primed right up and the sprayer worked better than I expected. I am super happy with this product so far...

Good product for small to medium jobs
I have a 5 acre fruit grove. This sprayer is being used to spray specific trees at times that the turbine sprayer is not needed. I have owned the sprayer for 3 months and it has worked well. It has a powerful pump and will allow fine mist or long throwing spray. The only improvement would be to package this with a larger tank. The spray pistol is very good quality as well.

hi-pressure atv tree sprayer
this sprayer has many good features and originally worked like i expected: good spray height (30ft), hose length, light weight and mostly easy to clean.
after several uses i now have some on-going problems:
1. the wires continually pull out of the on/off switch causing repairs to be made during the middle of spraying. i finally just by passed it and leave it on since the on/off switch is such an issue. luckily, the cord is set up to bypass the switch.
2. after only 4 uses my sprayer now will only generate 50 lbs of pressure instead of 150 and that is WHEN i get the pump to prime. the directions don't provide enough problem solving.
if i cannot solve this prime/pressure problem then i'm going to return it and hope i got a lemon. i'm definately going to try a replacement because the unit really works well when it works.
