Clear vacuum hose and black suction probe reach down through the dipstick tube to the bottom of the engine pan. Powerful vacuum pump action creates a strong suction that pulls the dirty oil and sludge into the Oil Changers tank. Solved my lawn mower problem,

"I read all the reviews on similar, smaller models of oil changers for changing the oil in lawn mowers and they weren't very positive. On my searches I ran into the Topside oil changer with good reviews, at about the same price, so I bought it. Well it works great on the lawn mower. Otherwise it has to be turned over to drain the oil, and I am too old to manage that. It was costing me a fortune to take it to the repair shop to get the oil changed, so the Topside has paid for itself the first year and it was very easy for me to use."

"I read the reviews before buying this and it is a good product. Directions for assembly are clear as well as instructions on how to use it .
I made sure to lubricate the o rings and I got 4 quarts of oil out of my daughter's car in about ten minutes.
I would like to see a clear window with measurements on it so you can tell how much fluid you removed. I ended up pouring the contents into a Quaker State jug that had the window with the measurements. The price also is a bit much once you see the simple construction. Someone has to make money off of a good idea, I guess."

"After reading other reviews , I purchased the Topsider to change the oil in my newest car. The item arrived to my home in record time and being in a hurry, I put it to the test on my lawnmower. Needless to say, I was very impressed - no mess, the product worked like a charm. I actually spilled more oil putting new oil in the mower than taking it out. I cannot wait to see how well it does on the car. Highly recommend"

"It does get the oil out, but not without some pumping. It took awhile for it to get 2 quarts out of the 4 wheeler and I had to keeo pumping it to make it happen. Don't plan on drawing huge amounts out in any short order."

"works great for overfilled trasnmissions just minutes to take out a quart...engine oil needs to be good and warm or it can take a long while...worked good to change a 6.5 turbo diesel fuel filter..first to clean out the old fuel in filter housing, then to bleed the air out by removing the bleeder on top , placing the vinyl hose on top and drawing out the air untill fuel comes up ,replace the bleed screw and your done ..again just minutes...."

"I bought this to change the oil in my 2008 Toyota Tacoma. I followed the directions to the letter, and the unit suctioned exactly as described. The problem is accuracy. In order remove all the old oil, the tip of the suction tube MUST be at exactly the lowest point of the pan. This is not as easy as it sounds. If you don't push the tube in all the way, or if the tube curls upward by even 1-2 inches after hitting the bottom, you will leave oil in the engine. In my case the tube curled upwards by a small amount and, you guessed it, I overfilled the engine by about 3/4 quart. This was not a big deal because I then used the unit to suck out the overfill and all was well. However this negated any time savings achieved by the unit and I still have some dirty oil mixed in with the new stuff. So in the end, I would recommend this unit if you cannot get under your car or if you have a boat, but if you can, the good old fashioned way to drain the oil is still the most effective."

"This product works great. A little slow with gear oil, but this is expected. I like the fact that it is made of metal, and is very sturdy. I did substitute a metal ball cock valve for the plastic clip."
