NorthStar Weldable Log Splitter Wedge
Could not buy the metal alone to make this for cheaper, don't waste your time, just buy this . Time will tell if it dulls out or not, but seems high quality metal, welded very clean with little effort. Used a mig welder with no issues to make my own sliding wedge.

cannot beat the price
built my own log splitter and used this wedge instead of wasting hours on grinding some 1inch plate to an edge welded on very nicely and is tough as you would ever need it to be would buy again saves so much time i'm very impressed with it

This is a good and reasonably priced wedge. Good weldability and a good finish. Holds up to tough oak and eucalyptus.

This wedge does not seem to be made out of hardened metal. I was able to weld to it using my mig welder without an issue. I do wish the wedge was a little wider. I did have to add to the back of the wedge to make it wider.

Bought this product because we are building a 34ton log splitter. Its good steel and if welded per instructions will hold up to anything.

This is one of my first purchases when I set out to build my logsplitter. It was easy to weld to the I-beam and fabricate the rest of the wedge.

Used on Homemade Log Splitter
Purchased this splitter wedge as one of the several parts I had ordered from Northern to overhaul a homemade log splitter. It was a major overhaul. The only item we did not replace was the engine. I was pleased with the quick handling and shipment of the order.
I did not do the weldling myself, but the person welded the wedge to the steel plate was impressed with the quality of the wedge. The next thing I plan to purchase is the NorthStar Four Way Slip On Log Splitter Wedge.

12 inch splitting wedge
this product is an essential part of my 30 Ton log splitter. It was easy to weld onto the I Beam and goes through the toughest hardwood like butter. A very good decision to buy this. I have cut about a 100 cord of wood, mostly hardwood with nothing more than a wipe down of the blade.
