Handy Tool
This is a very convenient tool to avoid bending over to pick up scattered nails. It also is very helpful for retrieving screw and nails stuck in between deck boards. However, the only drawback is that it's not nearly as powerful as I had hoped. It has to be held within 2 inches of the ground to retrieve anything. This may have to do with it being able to release it's load.

Works great
I use it to get post construction nails off the ground, gets the rusty ones I can't even see. Releases nicely. High quality.

Great Product
We recently built a house and I wanted a magnet to help on the clean up with nails, etc. This product worked great. The auto release is a must have on a magnet. It makes dumping the nails, etc. a breeze. Great construction and made in the USA.

Good for some uses, but not extremely powerful
Good for picking up metal off a smooth floor, just like in the product image. I bought it with the intention of clearing a few small grassy and bare dirt areas of my yard and barn where construction work might have left nails, staples, and baling wire bits. After I tried it out, I realized reading some others' reviews may have left me with unrealistic expectations of the magnet strength. The product has its uses, for sure, because it can pick up several nails at once without you having to bend over, but in my experience, you must to bring the magnet head in contact with the nails to pull them off the ground. Which means you have to see the nail. For uneven, dirty, and grassy areas, I suggest buying something with a much stronger magnet.

Nail magnet
I used this magnet to pick up nails around my house after my roof was replaced. Even after the contractor used a wheeled magnet to pick up loose nails, I used this item to retrieve at least 300 nails. The magnet was strong enough to pull nails from vegetated areas where I could not see the nails and the aluminum frame allowed to drop the nails in a bucket without having to strip them off by hand.

Load release Magnet
Simple to use having light weight and controlled release. Have used it indoors for staples and outdoors around construction sites to protect vehicle tires etc. from nails and screws.
