great when paired with the Big Buddy heater
The 1# propane tanks don't last very long, but this hose allows you to use a 20# tank. This gives the heater a much more useful run time. I used it intermittently during the winter, and didn't even drain 1 tank. It does take a while for the propane to travel 12 ft and fill the hose. Be patient.

nice accessory for heater or grill
I purchased this extension hose as an accessory to the Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater. The small 16 oz (camping) propane cylinder is fine for portable and short uses (like heating the garage for a day while working). This extension hose allows you to connect any size propane tank. The 20 lb. cylinder (BBQ grill size) is a little big to lug around and so I was thinking about picking up one of those small 5 lb. cylinders. I may also use this extension with my portable gas grill this summer, as the connections are the same.

Great add on for Mr. Buddy heater.
I used this hose to hook up my Mr. Buddy heater in my cabin. The heater used up the one pound cylinders very rapidly, but with the hose and a 20 pound tank, the heater will run for days without refilling.

I purchased this to go with a heater for my son for Christmas. He loves the fact that it is long enough to keep the heater away from the tank (he used to be a volunteer fireman and a fireman in the Air Force). Safety first!

hose
Good hose. I like that you don't need a wrench to tighten it.
I believe that you need the hose with a regulator on it for the larger heater.

Inadequate directions
It appears to be a fine product, but I still haven't figured out what the "star wheel" device attached to this is for. It appears to be a hand-tightening device, but the hex "socket" doesn't fit anything. Other than this, it is fine. I would have liked not to have use tools to tighten it. However, since this is for a gas device that I will only use periodically, I suppose I can live with it.

Propane extension hose.
The 12' extension hose is an essential part of our equipment for camping.
We do a lot of cooking on our portable gas grill and found that it was a real problem trying to remember to keep the little propane bottles on hand. You use one of the small bottles up in a week of cooking. But with 30# propane bottles on our 25' travel trailer anyway, it's as easy to use the extension hose as it would be to mess with the small bottles and there's nothing to remember. I just keep the hose stowed with the other essential items in our storage compartment and I always have propane for our gas grill.
