good safety item, but,

"The idea of having the abrasive flow stopped if you release the valve, in events such as the nozzle slipping from your hand, a fall, etc. are good, but these require so much force to hold them open that your hand fatigues easily (at least an old geezer like me does). Also, every time you open or close it the sealing block abrades away some from the sand flow, such that the block needs replaced every couple of hours."

"THIS DEADMAN VALVE IS WELL CONSTRUCTED AND HEAVY DUTY IT HAS WORKED WELL SO FAR, ALTHOUGH IT LEAKS AIR AROUND THE SEALING BLOCK AND IT TOOK A LITTLE TINKERING TO CORRECT THAT. I THINK THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST VALVES ON THE MARKET."

"Ordered this as a replacement to the valve on a sand blaster I purchased from a national chain. The valve and nozzle that came with it was no good. This valve head I purchased from Northern fixed the problem, works well and was less expensive than I had found from a automotive restoration catalog. Happy with the product."
