"Bought engine to replace the original 9.25 Wisconsin 1 cyl in my 1963 King Midget. Main reason I went with the Briggs Vanguard motor was that it was the only engine of its type/size/output that had a mounting base small enough to fit into the K-M's engine cradle. The engine comes with an electric start, and a key to turn to do so, so I'm taking that key off the motor and mounting it in the dash. Other than that, install should be relatively straight-forward. Will be posting more later."

"I have a welding shop and one of my customers asked me to build him a self propelled wood splitter. After some discussion we decided on the 23 HP Briggs vanguard as our power plant. We were both very pleased with its clean lines and how easy it fit into our project. The power of the Vanguard was more than enough and we were amazed at how quiet it was in comparison to others I have heard. At the time I was not to concerned about fuel consumption but now with fuel prices as high as they are and as long as the throtle is kept at a reasonable setting I am very satisfied with its economy. Cost is better than most other engines and I am pleased with the quality of construction. I am sure of many years of trouble free life with our choice of this engine."
