Good Go Kart Booklet
I bought this booklet a few years ago and it was very helpful will building our go kart. I give it three stars however, because a few of the parts such as the cluches, fixed axle, ect. are discontinued.

Good manual
This manual was great for giving you the idea of what is needed to be done to build a great standard go-kart. You don't have to be a genius to read and understand this manual. However, some of the dimensions for the two person go-kart I thought were odd so I just modified them to what would work for me.

Go-kart manual
The instructions were easy to follow and the parts list was acurate. With the manual I was able to build a go-kart for my sons birthday that he loves to drive around the property.
The only draw back is now I have to build another one so his younger brother isn't always trying to take it when he's not looking.

Not so Much
While the plans for the frame were very helpful, there were also some errors in the plans regarding the seats (two person model). Some of the dimensions given are incorrect. Also, several of the part numbers given in the instructions for the two person model are discontinued. If you wish to build a two person cart with a fixed axle, do NOT go by the part numbers listed. The part number for the rear axle is a discontinued number, and if you decide to purchase an alternate part #1388 axle, the rear tire/wheel/hub assembly will NOT fit this axle. As a matter of fact, I have not been able to find a tire/wheel/hub assembley on the Norhtern web site that will fit this axle for a fixed axle application. These plans are useable, but only with caution.

Go Kart Manual Review
A well documented how-to guide for the beginning go-kart builder. I especially liked the options provided to build a fix-axle and live-axle version as well as the option to build a one person or two person version of the go kart. The finish product doesn't look fancy with various curves or angles but straight cuts and no need to bend tubing greatly simplifies the fabrication. The design can be the basis for many modifications to suit your style. The referenced part numbers also removes a lot of uncertainty on which items to buy. Overall a great introduction to kart building.

nice plans
Perfect for a begginer to learn how to build a go kart that is not to complicated and easy to understand. This book also helped me build my first that still functions properly and the frame is really strong.

Great Book
I would advise any person who would want to build a go-kart to start out by buying this book. It helped me design my first go kart and also helped me build it. I think the most useful part of the booklet is the fact that it tells you specifically which parts are the correct parts to buy (and it also gives the northern tool part #) The only thing that I disliked about the book was the fact that it was made up of all paper which made it prone to rips and tears while being read in the workshop. Apart from this I would say that this is nearly the perfect book. It includes a lot of diagrams and not to much dense text which helps get the concepts across better. If you are considering building a go kart, this is the book to buy!
