  1. What is the MIXING capacity?

    The specs list the volume of the mixer as 5cu.ft, but is this the mixing capacity (which will be much less than the internal volume) or the internal volume of the drum? The mixing capacity is the volume of cement that can be mixed without spilling out while turning and operating at the proper angle. Depending on angle, paddle size and RPM, this is usually less than a third of the internal volume, but needs to be specifically stated so that customers know the volume of cement that can be mixed at one time!

    1. It can hold 8 80# bags easily but depends more on your tractor and how hard you want to push it. On my Kubota BX, I never added more than 4 80# bags.

    2. This mixer is rated at -5 Cubic Fee. A 90 pound bag of pre-mix concrete will make 1 cubic foot of cement, so under ideal conditions you can mix 5 bags at once. There are other factors to consider: rpm of the pto shaft, pin positions on your 3-pt, angle of the barrel, category of your tractor, etc. I mix my own mud accordingly to what I intend to use it for. On one project, I may use more Portland type A, a different ratio of 3/4 minus aggregate and a different ratio of washed sand. There are books available to help. You can even substitute concrete glue instead of water. Good Luck

    1. The weight of the mixer is 253 pounds. The maximum weight capacity for the mixer is 140 pounds.

  5. Are rear hydraulics required?

    1. Rear hydraulics are not required. When loading, the cement mixer is manually operated. When unloading, the user can manually operate or use hydraulics for automatic dumping.
