This Park Grill really doesn't cut any corners. It is an authentic US Forest Service, heavy-duty grill made by Pilot Rock in the USA. It's made of strong 3/16in. steel for many years of safe, reliable grilling service.

Easy to Set Up

The grill and grate are shipped fully assembled. Just thread the two-piece base together, install in the ground (concrete not included) and put the grill on top. Simply lift up the cooking grate to fill with charcoal, and easily empty the charcoal ashes by raising the grate back up. It's as simple as that!

The cooking grate is designed with deep-cut side and back detents to securely hold the cooking grate safely in place, so you won't have to worry about the grate accidentally falling into the coals. The sides and back are formed from thick 7-gauge (3/16in.) steel for strength and durability. The firebox corners have a 2in. radius, not square, to avoid sharp edges and last longer.     1. No it folds back it can not be removed.

    2. Nope... that would defeat the "security" of this grill. It does easily flip up completely and stands up at the back, but the bottom is still "captured."

    4. I would not recommend Heavy-Duty Park-Style Grill - Model# H-16 B6X2 for a wood deck but would install it in the back yard away from combustibles or flammables so you can enjoy great BBQ's.

    5. This grill is recommended to be set in a concrete footing of 12" diameter and 36" depth, there is not a mount available to bolt this to a wood surface.

  3. How far down and how much concrete is needed

    Hi All!! How far down does the post need to go and how much concrete is needed. TIA!!!.

    1. I put mine in 15 to 16 inches and used 25 pounds of sac crete.

    2. I used 2 60 pound bag of Quikrete and dug a hole 18" deep about 14" wide. So far so good the BBQ is quite stable. I also ran a heavy steel 1/8" wire through the bottom hole and into the concrete.

    3. Dug my post hole 12" wide x 42" deep. Recommended depth is 36", I wanted to go a little deeper. Used four 80 lb. bags of cement, poured it in dry and added water per cement instructions. Concrete was almost level with the surrounding dirt but slightly below. I have no idea how the one customer said that he was able to get by with one 80 lb. bag!

    4. The concrete footing should be a minimum 12" diameter and 36" deep. The assembled post base will measure 15-1/4" below ground, leaving 26" from the top of the post to the ground, or top of the concrete footing.

    how wood (pun intended) using oak or cherry wood to get coals for cooking work in this grill?

    3. Hickory, oak and mesquite are chosen most often as a practical standalone fuel source. The density or, "energy content" of these woods allows them to burn hot and slow. Each imparts a distinct flavor and aroma for a personal preference.

  6. PARK GRILL- Kept my last one covered when not in use, rusted badly, should i leave uncovered, live in orlando..

    1. We left ours uncovered; we had it for about a month now - no rust , etc. We do keep it clean when we've finished grilling. I live in South, weather very tropical. Will keep ya'll informed.

    2. This grill is susceptible to rust in a saltwater environment due to the steel material. Covering the grill should indeed help with rust prevention, along with washing the grill to rinse off salt as often as possible.

    How well does this hold up near the ocean, Want something for the beach house

    1. should hold up well, keep covered and rinse salt occasionally. repaint with high heat paint every year

    2. If subjected to salt water it would cause the grill to rust. It should be cleaned regularly. Using some kind of cover when not in use would be recommended.

  8. Are post extensions available?

    Need to raise mounting from ground to slightly elevated deck...

    1. No I placed the post at 26.5 from the ground to the top. It appears to be at a good level. I am 6'1. I used one bag of 80 lb concrete to set

    2. This grill does not have an extension available. We do offer a 40" post that can be used as an alternative to the 2 pieces of post that come with the grill. You could purchase MS42958-B6 and then weld it onto the existing post that comes with the grill. To order that part you will need to call our parts department at 800-657-0516. The part number for the post is MS42958-B6.

    1. The grates cannot be purchased separately for this grill. It is welded onto the frame and is not removable or replaceable.
