Roughneck Bench- or Wall-Mounted Chain Saw Sharpener
A Reasonably Good Sharpener
I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, if it wasn't for the YouTube video showing how to use this tool, learning how to make it work from the enclosed manual would be a totally frustrating experience. If you are not a "manual reading" handyman, then you better track down the YouTube video.
Having said that, once you get the technique down of sharpening your chains, this is a great tool. But being that this tool has considerable potential for causing injury to the operator if used incorrectly, that is the reason why I gave it three stars.
My only complaint, aside from the horrible operators manual, is the chain holder. I had to do some changing of the holding mechanism in order for the holder to grasp the small chains I used in my Sthl 12" chains I use in my pole saws. The clamps did not come together enough to grasp the chain so I had to remove the spacers from the mechanisms. Since I did that, the chain holder works fine, although not perfectly, to hold the chain steady in order for the grinding wheel NOT to to force the chain out of the holder.
Aside from the above issues, the sharpener works good and I have sharpened all of my chains and did it in less than 30 minutes, I have chains that range from 12" to 16" from three different chain saws. For the money, I believe the sharpener is a good deal.
For mounting suggestions: I mounted the sharpener on a 2x4 which I hold in my 6"vice. When finished, I hang the sharpener on the wall. That is a trick you learn from the YouTube video. There are some other safety issues that are not explained in the manual that the video covers about wear on the chains and how to address them.

It was easy to assemble, but hard to make all the fine adjustments. Once those are made it works pretty slick.

Impressed with this sharpener
This sharpener is well worth the money. I was truly impressed with the sturdiness and how well it sharpened my blades, just as good as the Oregon my friend uses. I would have to agree with others, when it comes to the instructions. The instructions are hard to follow, but if you have any understanding of sharpening blades, then it is easy to figure everything out.

Cheap Tool but Gets the Job Done
Bottom line is that this tool is well worth the money. It gets the chain very sharp. I wouldn't call it a precision tool, as the chain wobbles a bit and you never feel quite right about its fit or the settings. Most of the parts work pretty well, but I wished they would have put more quality in the way the chain rides on the sharpening rail. However, I was very surprised at how nicely the chain cuts after sharpening. I recommend this tool if you don't mind fiddling around without the manual. The best thing to do is watch a few videos on youtube and jump right in.

broken main hinge
after about 4 uses the main hinge pivot broke at the base, it is made of thin cast iron and can apparently tolerate almost no torque...its not repairable.......the main hinge pivot is about 3/16 of an inch thick, not nearly tough enough for the use required over the long term

For the price the quality and function are better than I would have expected.
The manual is very poor. Not clear and leaves out needed info.
That being said I was able to use it with very good results in about 1/2 hour of setup
Does the job and I will expect it to last a long time

I have tried chain grinders from other sources and found none have even come close to the quality of this product. I am a "hobby" logger with a number of chain saws and a bandsaw saw mill. I use this grinder for all my chains and found it does a really nice job. Instructions are not a problem if you have any mechanical ability. I also use this grinder to sharpen my bandsaw blades (with an attachment I made). Thinking of buying a second so I can use one for each purpose.

Good home sharpener
This sharpener was easy to set up although the instructions were a little weak. I was able to set it up and sharpen my first blade in 15 minutes and am very happy with the results. It feels a little light for heavy duty use but I have used it to cut a dozen blades so far.
