Ironton Hose Reel Cart - Holds 300ft. x 5/8in. Hose
Overall a good unit. A little bulky and could use better support at the bottom and handle area where the tubes come together. Definitely a weak link and could pose problems over time. I will work on that to eliminate the looseness at those areas.

Hose Reel Hassel
This was my 4th purchase of a hose reel cart. I bought this one because it was on sale and advertised as "heavy duty". The unassembled reel was packaged in a thick cardboard box that seemed to provide adequate protection during shipment. Delivery was as scheduled.
Only a plastic protective piece (discarded after assembly) on the hose connection was broken but it had prevented damage to the part. The assembly instructions are of poor quality and somewhat incomplete. Read what is provided carefully and examine all the various parts prior to beginning assembly. Screws and nuts have substitutes and there are no extras in case one is lost or stripped. You will need screwdrivers and a 1/4 "ratchet set and/ or wrenches for assembly.
After assembly the unit seems to be more solid than the typical plastic alternatives; however, the upright handle connection is held by a single screw on each side and is not a tight fit. Remains to be seen how it will hold up over time. Overall the hose reel seems to be a fair value and acceptable quality.

Great price appears to be better than more expensive models with other reviews reflecting the same as my own. Pretty easy to assemble works as advertised.

This is how a hose cart should be made. Solid steel construction, not that plastic garbage. This will no doubt out last me.

Hardware & Instructions are TERRIBLE!
The cart itself seems to be of questionable quality. The hardware and instructions are total JUNK. The instructions were inaccurate to say the least. They did not include information of various pieces that were included in the hardware kit, thus leaving me to have to figure out where they belonged. The parts list in the instructions also did not include these various parts and the quantities were not accurate for nuts and bolts. The hardware itself was of poor quality and most bolts were just long enough to allow the nuts to catch the bottom thread. I purchased all new stainless hardware from Fastenal and installed in their place.
As for quality of the cart itself, the metal is not too flimsy, but time and hose weight on the reel will tell this story.

Excellent Price Point
I am very pleased with this hose reel; it was relatively easy to assemble, although the instructions could use more detail. The cart itself seems sturdy with the exception of a little wobble in the handle, and the reel movement is smooth. Other carts I've used in the past have leaked at the rotary union, but this one has not in 2+ weeks of daily use.
The only improvement would be to give more detail in the instructions, and make the connection between the handle and the base of the cart more robust.

Great product for the money
I just put the reel cart together yesterday. However, it took me about 20-25 min. to put it together. The cart was made fairly well and what's really important is that the plumbing connections and parts were nicely built w/good welds.
I only gave it 4 stars due to the fact that it probably will rust quickly due just plain steel and not galvanize parts. The tires could be better if they were a solid tire or something that won't go flat. Holds a load of 5/8" hose comfortably and heavily built for the money.
The only thing better is that of an Eley cart which is 3 times as much and made of aluminum.

Holds lots of hose!!
I purchased this hose reel cart to replace an Ames plastic hose reel that traditionally last only three or four years. The assembly requires some time and the instructions are not as clear as they could be, the assembly wasn't difficult, just time-consuming. One of the axles not completely galvanized (as advertised) and one thread was damaged in shipment and I had to use my tap and die to re-thread the axle. When reeling in hose there is a squeak when using the handle. Other than those issues I hope I'll be satisfied with the product. Made in China.

The hose reel was pretty easy to assemble although the directions could have been clearer. The hose reel is beefy and seems like it will last a long time- well constructed with good components. It works great, manages my hoses perfectly, saves me time and effort.

Love it once it was assembled. Instructions are a bit challenging. Extra parts came in the box making assembly a bit confusing. Overall, exactually what I wanted and I am ordering a second one.
