What is the diff between 1/2 and 1 ton in load moving with 1 foot of pull?

Details:

If I choose the 1/2 ton will I be doing half as much pulling relation to the 1 ton.

Answers

The 1/2 ton hoist gives you a lift capacity of 1000 pounds. The 1 ton hoist will give you a lift capacity of 2000 pounds. The 1/2 ton will give you half of the capacity of a 1 ton hoist.

Would this work as a hoist to use on wild game(Deer-Bear etc) Does it lock in place? Easy up & down.

This chain hoist would work with wild game. The internal brake should hold in place as long as the 1/2 ton capacity is not exceeded. It is easy up and down.

Will it bring down 1/2 ton?

Details:

I know it can lift 1/2 ton for 10 feet.
Can I bring 1/2 ton down from the attic to the floor 10 feet down?

This manual chain hoist is capable of both lifting and lowering loads weighing up to 1000 lbs. This hoist has a max lifting/lowering height of 10'. Depending on the height of the attachment point of your load and the height at which the hoist is mounted, the 10' lowering height this hoist can do may be a bit short for your application. Uplifting Purchased this chain hoist to facilitate the installation of a home built invalid lift to access bathtub from wheelchair and it works great. Just shortened the chain to keep things tidy. Really nice that Northern Tools is now shipping to Canada as a lot of their items are simply not available here. May 20, 2014
