Pelpro Pellet Stove - 50,000 BTU, Model# HHPP2BDD-M
Fair Price, Decent Product.. Not Top of the Line
Couple of things.. As other reviews stated it does not hold 120 pounds in the hopper, but not to big a deal. The Blower is pretty quiet compared to the one I replaced. I did have to Tune it.. This is a must for the stove to work properly. The instruction manual is so-so informative as to why it must be tuned but very informative on how to tune it.. Yes u have to read it.. Once tuned and setup it runs pretty darn good.. Un-Packaging was a challenge from the pallet but not too much of a challenge. Pry bar and a hammer did the trick. The door needed to be re-seated once I fired it up as smoke was sneaking by (also Tuning resolved this) All in all for the money im happy. It is heating most of our 1800sq ft home to comfortable temps.. Remember you pay for what you get.. I would buy this stove again if I had to do it all over again..

Won't run on other than feed rate 1
This is my second Pelpro stove. My other unit is a Bayview free standing which I have owned for 8 years. Never had any issues with my Bayview so I decided to purchase the Home Heater 120. Now I regret it being that it has not worked since I got it about 2 weeks ago. I contacted customer service at Pelpro and they sent me a combustion fan and control panel. I installed both and the stove still will not run as it should. They told me that I would have to ship it to them and I said NO. They then said that a technician would contact me and nothing. I am now stuck with a 225 pound paper weight. I have tested the control board that was in the unit as well as the one they shipped me to find that they are both manufacture defective. I installed that one from my Bayveiw and it worked without issue. But they still will not help me as to my findings. Until this issue is resolved I would not purchase this unit or any other unit with this control board manufactured from February on. I will post an update as to what the findings are as well as there response if any.

Easy & reliable heat source
Both my husband and I have grown up in homes that used firewood as a primary heat source and we were looking for an alternative to wood. We are very pleased with this stove. It took a little getting used too and also a little tweaking to get it to be properly efficient as it is stated in the manual but now we are very happy with it. My husband installed it in a very short time and had no problems. It is easy to care for and it holds 2 1/2 bags of pellets which is lasting us a little bit more than 2 1/2 days, and it is keeping our home very comfortable despite the harsh weather we have been having. We would definitely recommend it.

Stove as described
We received our stove in @ 1 week, there were no problems with the delivery (though no lift gate service was available from the carrier). We slid the crate into my truck and then used some 2x8 ramps to slide it off the truck. It took a few minutes to figure how it was attached to the crate, but relatively easy once I figured that the back panel had to be removed to take out the two lags. Installation was painless and operation was as per the manual. The hopper does not hold 120 # but more likely 90-100#.
Re the claim to heat up to 2,500 square feet, not sure about that, We have a relatively new home (12 years old) and good insulation and I am sure it will not heat to a reasonable temperature as the only source of heat for our 2,200 Sq feet. It will take the edge off the house but i am sure that we will use our other source on very cold days!
I recommend the unit.

I was sent a refurbished unit too! Further, I was told it was my fault and that I did not pay attention when I ordered it-very offensive. Eventually, management rectified and was very apologetic.
After refusing a $100 off offer, and of course, waiting for a new unit, we have been using the stove for about a month.
Con=It does not fit the 120 pounds of pellets the description states, which was a major consideration when we decided on purchase. However, it does hold about 90-100.
Pro-we are very happy with it. Pretty powerful fan. No start up problems. Fairly simple to install.
Word of caution-read the terms of the delivery closely. We were surprised to hear that they would not unload and could not provide a delivery time. Instead, you are expected to wait around the whole day. The delivery company DOES call you in advance to decide on the date of delivery. Instead, we just picked-up ours at the delivery company's depot. They were lovely and we out of there in ten minutes.
I have already recommended this item to my friends. Also plan to buy another one for our other home..

Works as it should and easy to clean
I purchased this PelPro stove model HHPP2BDD-M. It took about 2 weeks to arrive. It was missing a few small parts which I contacted Northern Tool and about 2 weeks later the parts arrived. I started the stove with hardwood pellets and haven't shut it off in almost 70 days only to clean it. When I purchased the stove I looked for a high volume fan, because of a basement install, I did care how loud the fan is. The stove holds about 100 lbs of pellets not the 120 as stated. I found it uses about 1.5 bags a day on high and even in the basement will keep the ranch home upstairs a comfortable 68-70 when the outside temp is 13 degrees. When I clean it, every 4-5 days, I use a ash vacuum and takes 10-15 min and it's back on again. My 1950's oil boiler now only runs to heat my hot water and have saved me almost $600 in oil just this year. The only adjustments I needed to make with the heater were the intake air adjustment to stop the popcorning of the pellets when dropped. I would not recommend this heater in a living area where you watch TV or listen to music because of the high volume fan noise but it is a good stove for a unfinished basement like my home.

Not as described
The stove was delivered promptly. The first problem we had was trying to get it off the palet it was bolted to. When we started putting things together, we found the door fell off as we opened it due to a missing pin. We were able to get that at the hardware store so we could install it which was pretty basic. It took a few tries, but we think we now have the auger set to leave few unburned pellets in the pot. We bought this stove as we had heard Pelpro was a good brand and we wanted the large hopper, which led us to this stove. It holds only about 50 pounds, no where near the 120 advertised. It is supposed to heat 2500 sq ft but heats about 750 with a bit of a struggle when it is cold. The living room will be about 70 while the other 2 rooms are about 64. The fan is louder than we thought it would be, but with everything else, that is dealable. It is fairly easy to clean every 2 or 3 days. After doing what we thought was enough research, it was a disappointment to have this stove not live up to it's description or reputation.
