Poor Heater
I bought this in 12/2011 and did not use it much as we had a warm winter last year. I have a 24X24 garage and I dought it could raise the temprature a degree on a warm day. I could blow more warm air than the heater. I bought the heater as all the reviews I read were very good. I would not recomend this heater.

Had this for little over a year for my 2 car garage -shop,worked fine till the coldest day of the 2nd winter, I went out and it wasn't blowing hot air, looked at it and the heating element was broke.

Works OK so far
This is my second winter running this heater. I use it in a 450 sq ft garage (smaller 2 stall), well insulated. It will take the garage from 35 deg to 65 deg in ~ 2.5 hours. On a zero deg day, it had no problem holding the temperature at 65 deg (which is a very comfortable working temp). Two complaints: the fan is noisy (its off balance and makes the whole thing rattle) and it doesn't move as much air as I'd like. Hard to beat for the price though.

BROKEN HEATING ELEMENT
I ORDERED 10 OF THESE HEATERS AND WITHIN A YEAR THE HEATING ELEMENT HAS BROKE IN 6 OF THEM! IF YOU WANT A RELIABLE HEATER DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE...

portable heater
We have two of these heaters to heat our porch, If you have the option to wire 220 watts, I do recommend these heaters.

This has bad fan units
I pruchase two of these. one unit I purchased worked the other was sent back because the fan unit would not work. The heat would work but not the fan. I received the replacement unit. It has the same problem. I'm now sending this back and getting a different unit.

Works great
I have an oversized 1 car garage. In early winter (30 degrees F), this little heater heated up my garage for me to work in a T-shirt in about 5 - 10 min. At that, I still only needed to set the variable thermostat on the heater to about 1/3. The fan makes a little noise when it firsts starts, but mostly goes away within a few minutes. Between the cost, size, and functionality, I have no complaints!

Not bad...after fixing it.
I was really excited when it arrived. I was a little bigger than expected, but that's a good thing. I thought it might be tiny. My outlet is wired with 6/3 w/ground, so no worries about anything there. I plugged it in, nothing happened. I checked the breaker, its good. I look back at the heater and it is definitely making heat, but no fan movement. It turns out the bracket that holds the fan motor in place was bent so much that the fan blades couldn't spin because they hit the bracket itself. This is all inside the heater btw. after taking the fan side screen off of the brand new heater and bending the bracket back to a usable point it kicks out the heat! Also, right out of the box there was a machine bolt rolling around inside the leg with the thermostat...not sure what it is for, but there's no hole where it should be. So i think its an extra. Its a cheap heater. Good, but cheap. I like it : )

worth the money
At first I was a skeptic it did not seem to put out much heat. I use in a 20x24 pole barn without ceiling or insulation. I must say after using it, it does the job rather well. With the cold weather it has done the job. The heater has a 30 amp 240/220v requirement and it has a variable temp control which automatically shut off unit when room comes up to temp. It will not display degrees so when its warm enough turn back the dial till it shuts off. The plug looks like -.- and needs to be run with 10/2 with a ground or 10/3.
