Kitchener Multipurpose Peeler/Slicer
Great Peeler for the Price
It makes peeling and coring apples a breeze. It makes small slices which is nice for children to eat.

1. I found the instructions to be indecipherable. However, it is fairly easy to understand the mechanism.
2. It would be very helpful if Northern would put together a video of best practices for Apples and pears. Notice the picture how they cut off one end (or both ends in the one I bought) of what they are peeling. A video would certainly save some frustration.
3. The key to the peeling mechanism is setting the screw that controls the depth of the pealer that will peal the apple.
4. We love the slicer and corer; not the peeler. It saves huge time when slicing and coring apples for apple sauce.
Main reason for not scoring higher? Apples are not perfect in shape. The peeler needs adjustment for each apple, and I found (at least) I had to adjust it during the pealing in order to not take too much of the apple. Also, adjusted for imperfect apple dimensions to get all the peal in the middle and end.
PS for the reviewer complaining about the suction. I took his critique, and I put the suction on a glass plate I use in woodworking. The suction cup worked well that way for me, but did not work to well on a piece of wood. It would probably work on a cutting board as well. Also, I was patient, and if I found it hard to turn (normally it is very easy), I backed off and adjusted the peeler.

WOw! I have been looking for a apple peeler for awhile now this is so nice and easy to use it just don't have to be use on apples you can use it on potatoes also, easy enough the kids can use it. I think this one will last for a long time ,

I purchased this peeler/corer to do 3 bushels of Arkansas Black apples. I did not like the idea of a suction base, but decided that if I had to, I could put some screws through it and that would be okay. I never got that far. The slicer was flimsy, the corer was even more flimsy and one of the prongs that hold the apple broke off. O by the way, the suction would hold for like 5 minutes. In the end it did not hold at all. It does not advertise to be a corer/slicer for good reason. I would have used it anyway if the prong had not broken off into an apple. I am taking it back as soon as I get a chance.

The peeler is just O. K .The cutting blade is not sturdy enought, I foud it moving when it came up on tougher part of potato skin, also it didn't always cut apples all the way to the core. The price is right.

CAN'T BEAT THIS PEELER FOR THE MONEY
THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE PEELER! IT WORKS PERFECT FOR APPLES AND DOES A FAIRLY GOOD JOB ON POTATOES. AS LONG AS POTATOES ARE ROUND OR OBLONG AND NOT IRREGULAR SHAPED. I PEELED AND CUT UP 10# OF RED NEW POTATOES IN ABOUT 15 MIN. BY MYSELF WITH NO FUSS AT ALL.
