Kitchener #32 Meat Grinder with V-Belt Pulley
Nut does not stay on but pushes off
The nut will not stay on when trying grind. It is not threaded deep enough to lock on and pushes of as soon as the auger is loaded. I modified it with hold down bolts and use it now. Mine grinds well when the nut stays on and I will continue to use it but is not workable out of the box.

I bought this grinder about a year ago & hooked up a variable speed motor it. Yesterday was my first time to use it grinding meat. First if all the auger is not straight & bangs loudly against the housing. After grinding about 10 pounds of meat the ring nut started pushing off the end of the grinder. After inspection it appears that it is not threaded well & fits loosely on the grinder. I was able to add about half a roll of Teflon tape to the threads & it would stay together if you didn't put a lot of load on it. Now I'm afraid to buy another ring nut thinking it will be the same as the one I got already. Should have worked it as soon as I got it so maybe I could have returned it & found a better one.

Don't understand the negative reviews
I have had this grinder for several years and love it. We process several deer each season, and here in Alabama that can be several!!
I have it attached to a 1/2 hp motor and it is awesome, very fast, and never need a stomp-er to make it feed.
If we are grinding three or more deer at once I will usually remove and clean the plate and knife about half way through.
I believe the negative reviews may be caused by a simple mistake of turning to knife backward.

do not buy
just got this grinder hooked it up and it started out grinding meat fine but it only lasted 25min then wouldn't grind any more. the meat would just spin around the auger and not feed through

good grinder for the money
Works well and comes with pulley to use with a 1/2 HP motor. I gave 4 stars because the key for the keyway required some modification. Also, if you are grinding meat that has a high fat content such as pork, the flutes become clogged and require cleaning. The grinder has bearings which are much better than typical bushings, I recommend using some food grade lubricant on the bearings. I currently am using a 1/4 HP motor and it is not enough. I recommend using a 1/2 HP motor.

works like a charm!!!! Only problem is that the grinder plate and cutter are not stainless. They do rust when washed. Bought a new plate and cutter!!!!! Also I wished the grinder came with more plates. I bought the 3/8, 1/4 and 3/16 for sausage!!!

My Grinder Project
I have built my own electric grinder, for less than half the cost of a boughten one. The Kitchener #32 is a great grinder that is large and very easy to tear down for clean up. It's well worth the price. The only thing I had a problem with was the key fitting into the keyway of the pulley. No big deal, I simply ground the key down to make it fit. I highly recommend this grinder to everyone who wants to grind their own meat, as well as that of their friends.
