Black Rock Powder Company Dynamite Fire Starter Sticks - Crate of 20
This is a must have for anyone's fireplace. The only thing better would be to add a fuse. They light pretty easy and start fires well. A little pricey but I think it was worth it for the cool factor. Plus you will get some second looks

Excellent fire starters
Sticks burn for a long time with a hot flame. Have started logs with no bark easily. Excellent fire starters
Sawdust in the box is annoying. Ordered a 'replacement' box of sticks and top half of the sticks were broken. Maybe the sawdust serves some purpose as the ones in the wooden box are not broken.

cool but functional
The box is nicely constructed and strong wood. Everyone comments on it when they see it, especially with the 'dynamite' label. The fire starters work great too! Makes a good present for someone who has everything (including a wood stove).

I bought one of these in December ~ more to give as a gag-gift, than anything else. But, before it was given to my son as a gift; I set out the case & used one of the fire-starter sticks to start a fire in our wood-burner. It was amazing how quickly & easily it started a new fire, without all the prep-work. I loved it, and actually hated to give it away as a gift. My son took his gift home, and displayed it proudly at his annual New Years' Eve Party! As the attached picture shows, it went over with a BIG BANG there! We're both ordering additional cases!

These things are great!
These babys are easy to light and burn for a very longtime. It makes starting a fire in your fireplace a piece of cake. Anyone can start a fire with the greatest of ease by using these. Just follow the instructions and everything will work just fine.

these sticks burn pretty well. the wood box arrived with the lid detached from the nails holding it together, but a little wood glue fixed that problem quickly.

Fire Starter Sticks
Lots of fun. A conversation starter, even when the conversation starts with "wait!!!" Seriously, these fire starters are neat to store, and easy to use. They start the fire going hot and fast. I have recommended them to several friends. A little pricey, but worth the little extra for the sheer fun.

Ordered another crate plus two refills. Enough said. It is cold here in Northern Alaska and you need a quick fire when you come in off the trail!

It's about the box
I bought this as a Christmas present- for that purpose it's great. Mostly you want that box labeled "dynamite"...it's possible to buy a real dynamite box, but not easy or cheap. The box quality is adequate, and the product works though as a fire starter they are larger than necessary- break them in half and get twice as much product! Note that the box does not have a latch on the front top; it is hinged but everything can and will fall out if it's overturned. In shipping, this is likely to happen so open the shipping box with care as the sticks are packed in sawdust.

Yes the fire starter sticks work fine, but we mainly bought this for the box effect. Great to see people sit down by the wood stove and then see what they first suspect to be real powder sticks. Long story about how using old TNT to start fires works really well, open the box, see the saw dust and throw them one!
