Details:

Can I charge the Power Pack using the Cars Cigarette Lighter Port? The owner’s manual (page 6) states that “you can charge the battery in the unit by inserting the AC to DC adapter charger into…” the DC port of the Power Pack. This is confusing. I need to be able to charge this power pack from my car’s 12v cigarette lighter port. Can this be done, and if so, is the cable included / where can I get the cable. Thanks.

This NPower Powerpack Emergency Power Source can be charged by using your 12V cigarette lighter port inside your vehicle for when you're on the move. You will need a DC-to-DC charging cable to do this which is not included.

Answers

It'll take awhile if totally flat. The compressor has a low volume output. Fortunately the fill hose locks onto the valve stem. I usually turn it on and go about my chores coming back about every 3-5 mins to check progress until filled.

The length of time that this machine will take to inflate a tire will depend on the height of the tire as well as the dimensions you have listed, the pressure to which you are inflating it and if the battery is starting with a full charge. I would estimate that the fill time would be in the range of 5 to 7 minutes.

No, the compressor on this powerpack does not have an attached tank to store the air, so it would not provide the same action as compressed air from a can or tank. This compressor is best suited for tasks such as inflating tires.

No, the air compressor is made to inflate tires, balls, and pool toys. You would need an air compressor with a tank to do that.

Yes. The inverter in Item # 457402 can produce 600 surge watts and 400 continuous watts. After 5 minutes, continuous watts will be 320. Also, if using at max capacity, you should stop usage and let it cool every 5-7 minutes

DOES ALL IT SAYS Used to start up a diesel generator for a whole house multiple times in a 4 day period with out recharging this unit. Also used to recharge my cell phone same time period. Great product, whenever I go on any long trip I take it along as a back up for what ever may and could happen. Money spent well here on a great product. Great item foe peace of mind. May 10, 2013

FAIR TO AVERAGE AT BEST Purchased two of these to use as back ups, they do not last long, they seem to slowly start loosing storage cap after the first initial use, will not start much more than a lawn mower now even after pulling them off a 24 hour charge, I would certainly consider upgrading to a better box if you plan on using this any number or times or for ranch or farm garage use, fine for a one time or on occasion use, but do not expect long life at all. Not dependable I purchased this jump-starter mainly for the air compressor. After using the compressor twice to pump up a lawnmower tire the compressor pump locked up. I only used the compressor 5 min total before it stopped working. This product is not worth purchasing. April 23, 2013

jump box I bought this unit for the jump box purpose mostly, but when i went to use the air compressor the first time it wouldnt build pressure past about 38psi and them smoked and the compressor quit. this could have been a fluke but the sad thing is i have only bought two products from national and on the same day the other product failed also. NPower Poowerpack 500 A / 400 W The first time I needed to use to inflate my truck tire, it would not do it. I needed 70 psi in the tire. The tire had 50 psi when I started. I was able to get it too 60 psi and thats all. At the time, I had just hitched my 5th Wheel RV to the Truck. That's when I noticed the tire was low on air. The Air Compressor just wasn't working very well. With 60 psi I was able to get into a Garage to get it pumped up to 70 psi...This was my fisrt time needing to use to Air Compressor and it just wasn't up to the job. November 19, 2012

Impressed I was out to buy a heavy duty portable and battery supported air pump for higher psi tires, and I got a whole lot more! The pump handles my high psi trailer and truck tires when I can't get to a station without issue. I have used it several times as a car starter, but I recommend you get a larger amp if you have a diesel truck. I have also used it as an emergency back up in the house during a power outage. I'm finding new uses for it every day. Very versatile!! I'm suprised I've lived without one this long. October 15, 2012

NPower Powerpack Emergency Power Source with Air C A while back my husband purchased the Powerpack to take in our motorhome. Although we haven't gone on our next trip yet I have used the powerpack at home. Lately we have had a couple of power outages and as usual my cell phone battery was low. Thank goodness he had the powerpack fully charged and ready to be used. I plugged into it and was able to call the power company. All is well. I was so thankful he bought it when he did. I liked that it's light weight, portable and easy for me to use. I love it and feel safer knowing it's here when I need it. August 14, 2012

Contractor I have sleep apnea and need the c-pap machine to sleep. When I'm at hunting camp I use the NP power pack to power my c-pap machine at night. We have no electricity so this works great on the inverter! I just plug it into my truck during the day to re-charge it and I'm ready for another night. The machine is a 500 amp 400 watt. ABUSED AND STILL WORKING Powerpack took some real abuse. First it bounced in trailer behind 4 wheeler for over a mile. When I stopped the compressor switch had been hit and was running. Still had enough power to run grinder at the deer stand. It gets better, returning to camp tailgate fell off trailer and i dragged the power pack over !/2 mile. . It took some real abuse throught rocks and creeks. It still works fine but it has lots of dings and scrapes. What else could you ask for. d2 August 13, 2012
