Northern Industrial Universal Mobile Base Dolly Frame - 600Lb. Capacity
Using with caution
Mounted a Band saw on base dolly frame to move around and store in a small shop area. Have read some other reviews and I am watching the casters to see if they begin to fail. No problems at this time but haven't used it much. plan on buying more if this one holds up.

swivel caster failed
I put my band saw on this mobile base less than 2 months ago. The mobile base has probably traveled a total of 30 feet so far, just one trip across my shop and a number of park/unpark movements to store then use the saw. One of the swivel casters is failing already. I have not overloaded the mobile base. Now I need to unload my saw and take the mobile base back to the store for replacement, big hassle.

Plenty sturdy, but I'd like one design change...
I bought this to put under a full-size Craftsman drill press because it looked sturdy enough and the design kept the center of gravity really low. The price was right to boot. Great choice! I had to shorten two of the adjustment bars to accommodate the relatively narrow base of the drill, but that was no problem. The only change I'd like to see to the basic design is to have all the casters swivel and lock; as is, it takes some fairly complicated maneuvering to get it just where I want it.

Good design, not so good components
I purchased one. Assembly was a snap, set table saw (standard Delta) on it, & started to roll it. Caster came apart leaving greasy ball bearings all over floor. RMA, received second one. Checked casters, seemed tighter (original ones had alot of slop). Assembled base, placed saw on it, then rolled it 8 feet against wall where I store it. Covered saw, looked down, and saw bearing cup from a caster had popped off already! I took it apart and tried peening the shaft ends more. It is just not worth the hassle RMA-ing again, after two bad sets I have to assume that they would all have the same issue- unless the mfg gets a different source. We will see. I will probably end up buying different casters. Customer service was good. Dolly is good. just has junk casters.

Needed this years ago.
This Mobile Base Dolly Frame is so easy to assemble, no tools required. It is built extremely well with heavy duty parts. I am using it on a industrial type table saw in my garage. it rolls around with no effort. Can't believe I waited this long to get one.

I bought a couple of these to make some shop tools mobile. This mobile base is very sturdy and well made. It has locks for all 4 wheels, with the ones in the back (the non-swivel) operable from the front. These bases are pretty much infinitely adjustable and they fit my stands perfectly. My only negative is that - like many Northern Tool products - the packaging has been poorly designed. Another (unnamed) company that I buy stuff from always puts loose parts in bags and tapes them and puts cardboard separators between parts so that stuff doesn't rattle around in the box and skuff up (or damage) other parts. Northern Tool should take a lesson from them. Many items from Northern Tool would arrive in better condition if their packaging was better.

Perfect for the job
I purchased this dolly frame to place a kiln on and was able to match the legs of the kiln up with the adjustable base . I can now move the kiln when not in use with ease and little disruption to the firebricks. great product.
